There is some critical information that you will need to be aware of for this year’s event. There have been some procedural changes that are unique to the Loring experience that involves how we wish to make your experience at this event better! Please take the time to read the information below. Thank you for attending, and we hope you have a great time and will come back next year!
Registration: If you haven’t already registered online then you may do so in the following manner. Due to our club/IRS rules we have to impose a $10 weekend membership for non-season members. It’s $10 even if you only participate in one day.
- Fri and/or Sat evening 4pm – 6pm / go to the designated Registration Area and pre-register
- Sat and/or Sun morning 7am – 8am / go to the designated Registration Area to register (you must register/check-in each morning)
Tech Inspection: All vehicles will need to be Tech Inspected after you register. Tech inspection will be held from 7 am to 8 am in the designated Tech Inspection Area. You only have to tech once for the weekend.
Novice Meeting: Listen carefully for the announcement. You must attend this meeting. Specific information that is pertinent to Novices will be given. You will also be teamed up with an experienced driver who will show you the course and where to go on the course.
Course “Walk”: At most venues there would normally be adequate time to walk the course to learn it. Loring presents major time limitations towards conducting actual course walks. If you arrive Friday evening or Saturday evening you may walk the course in preparation for the next day’s event. Otherwise you can arrive at 7 5:30m to walk the course if desired. It is always recommended that you have an experienced driver with you to give you pointers and to answer questions. This year you will be teamed up with an experienced driver and will go out on the course in a car to slowly drive through the course to learn it prior to your first run in your car. There will be no course walks after 7:20 am.
Grid Parking:When we get ready to conduct our runs we will be forming the specified run group into a “grid” location near the start area. You will have a Novice identifier (painters tape) placed on your upper driver’s side windshield.
Driving: We are requiring that all Novices ride with an experienced driver prior to their first run and also have an experienced driver accompany them on their first run. This will hopefully eliminate problems with drivers getting lost on the course as well as enhance overall safety out on the course.
Worker Stations: Everyone will be assigned a work assignment. It is important that you report to work on time. If you are late it slows down the whole process resulting in fewer runs overall for the day. You will be teamed up with experienced people if you are working a cone station on the course. This is to ensure your safety…things happen fast on the course and you need to be alert. At the end of the day after all cars are finished we will need your assistance in helping to set up for the next day or to clean up the area once the weekend is finished. Thank You For Your Cooperation…Now Let’s Drive!
